The CoolSculpting® System is a medical device which targets and reduces the layer of fat under your skin by using non-invasive controlled cooling. It is applied to and intended to effect the appearance of the submental area (otherwise known as the double chin), thighs, abdomen, flanks (also known as love handles), bra fat, back fat, underarm fat, and fat under the buttocks (also known as banana roll). It is not a treatment for obesity or a weight loss solution; nor is it meant to replace traditional methods such as diet, exercise or liposuction. At Aesthetix Skin & Surgery, in Fort Lauderdale, our goal is to achieve holistic wellness from the inside, out. If we feel a patient is not a candidate for Coolsculpting, we will encourage them to fulfill a healthy lifestyle treatment plan before they are able to receive this effective fat loss treatment.
CoolSculpting, as the name implies, uses low temperatures to destroy and mobilize fat cells. We have been using this treatment at our Fort Lauderdale clinic for over 12 years, consistently achieving great results for hundreds of patients. We love to apply CoolScuplting as a tool for shaping and sculpting specific problem areas. Using the body’s own fat breakdown reaction through exposure to cold temperatures (cryolipolysis), we can remove fat cells from those notorious problem areas such as your belly, love handles, thighs, upper arms, double chin and more.
After the initial Consultation, the treatment, itself, is relatively quick. This depends on how many cycles are applied to the visit. Most cycles last an average of 40 minutes, reducing 25% of fat cells in a given treatment area at a time. To put this in perspective, many patients we have treated over the past decade only need one to two cycles (25-50% of fat cells destroyed), per trouble spot, to achieve their desired outcome. This can be a deciding factor when weighing out body shaping modalities if you are someone with a busy schedule who prefers to consolidate appointments. You may start to see changes in the mirror and in the way your clothes fit as early as three weeks after your procedure. Still, you will experience the most dramatic results after one to three months.
